The Malaysian Chinese Association Overseas Club of United Kingdom (MCACUK) was established in the year 2005. MCACUK is a non-profit and non-political organization founded with the aims of, amongst others, providing a platform for networking between Malaysian Chinese working and studying in the United Kingdom and, where possible, to look after the welfare of Malaysian Chinese residing in the United Kingdom. This does not mean that MCACUK is restricted to serving only the Malaysian Chinese community in the United Kingdom. Rather, we work with many other like-minded organizations for the betterment of the Malaysian community in the United Kingdom as a whole. The organization of MCACUK is such that there is a Central Committee formed from members all around the United Kingdom, and branches in various cities with their own sets of committees. Currently, MCACUK has branches in four major cities in the United Kingdom and still seeking to expand. We hope that by establishing more branches, we will be able to reach out to more Malaysians to better serve the Malaysian community. Since the establishment of MCACUK, we have held many major events. One of our largest annual events is the grand Chinese New Year celebrations held in collaboration with the Malaysian Students Department, London. Often, we also have dialogues or seminars from Malaysian ministers. Among the renowned ministers are the current Transport Minister, Dato’ Sri Chan Kong Choy, Health Minister, Deputy Higher Education Minister, Datuk Ong Tee Keat, and Deputy Education Minister, Dato’ Hon Choon Kim. Annually, our members who are back in Malaysia for summer holiday are also invited to attend the Malaysian Chinese Association General Assembly. Our membership is restricted only to Malaysian Chinese residing in the United Kingdom. Those interested should download and fill in the application form, and send it to hsein.yang@mcacuk.org.uk. No membership fee is charged at the moment.
